On completing the prayer, one should recite ASTAGHFIRULLAH thrice, then one should raise both hands to the level of the chest and make Du’a to ALLAH TA’ALA:

None has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone, He has no partner, His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He is Able to do all things. O Allah, there is none who can withhold what You give, and none may give what You have withheld, and the might of the mighty person cannot benefit him against You.
Aayatul Kursiyy
Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Self-Sustaining. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursī extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Magnificent.
Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.
Q & A
What is salaah or namaaz?
Salaah is a special type of prayer that has been taught by Allah through His Prophet (peace be upon him) to Allah’s servants.
What conditions are necessary for salaah ?
The prerequisites for salaah are seven. Without them salaah cannot be performed. These conditions are called fard or sharaa-it of salaah.
What are those seven conditions that must be observed before saying salaah?
They are:
Taahir (clean) body;
Taahir dress;
Taahir place of prayer;
Covering the satar (the private parts of one’s body);
The correct time of the salaah;
Facing towards the qiblah; and
Niyyah or intention of saying salaah.
What are the Faraaidh (Compulsary Acts) of Salaah?
There are six compulsory acts (Faraaidh) of Salaah
TAKBEERE TAHRIMA (The first Takbeer)
QIYAAM (standing position)
QIRAAT (reciting of at least 3 aayats or one long aayat of the Quraan.
RUKU (to bow down).
Both the SAJDAHS (prostration).
QAA’DAH AKHEERAH (to sit so long at the end of the last Rakaat that one can read the TASHAHHUD).
What are waajibaat (Necessary Acts) of Salaah?
WAAJIBAAT of Salaah are those items that are necessary to complete the Salaah. If one misses any of them unknowingly, it can be compensated by performing SAJDA SAHW (sajda done for mistakes made unknowingly).
There are fourteen WAAJIBAAT in Salaah.
Fixing the first Rakaats of the Fardh Salaah for QIRAAT.
It is Waajib to recite Surah Faatiha in all the Rakaat of every Salaah. However, in the third and fourth Rakaat of any Fardh Salaah, it is Sunnat and not Waajib.
To recite a Surah or a lengthy Aayat or three small Aayats after SURAH FAATIHA in the first two Rakaats of FARDH Salaah and in all the Rakaats of WAAJIB, SUNNAT and NAFL Salaah.
To read SURA FATIHA before any other Surah or Aayat
To maintain order between QIRAAT, RUKU, SAJDA and RAKAAT.
QAUMA (Standing up erect after RUKU).

To end the Salaah by saying 'SALAAM'
To say TAKBEER (Allahu-Akbar) for QUNOOT in Witr Salaah and also recite DUA-E-QUNOOT.

What are the Sunnats of Salaah?
Those things that have been proven to be done in Salaah by the Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم but not so much stress has been laid upon them as is laid upon things FARDH and WAAJIB are known as SUNNATS.
If any of these are missed unknowingly, neither does it invalidate the Salaah nor does Sajda Sahw become necessary.
