40 Du’as with Meaning

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful the Most Gracious

اللّهُمَّ بِكَ أَصْبَحْنا وَبِكَ أَمْسَينا وَبِكَ نَحْيا وَبِكَ نَموتُ وَإِلَيْكَ النُّشُورُ

O Allah, by You we enter the morning and by You we enter the evening, by You we live and by You we die, and to You is the Final Return.

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَقَالَنَا يَوْمَنَا هَذَا وَلَمْ يُهْلِكْنَا بِذُنُوبِنَا

Praise be to Allah Who did not call us to account for our sins today and did not destroy us for our sins.

اللّهُمَّ بِكَ أَمْسَينا وَبِكَ أَصْبَحْنا وَبِكَ نَحْيا وَبِكَ نَموتُ وَإِلَيْكَ وإليك المَصِيرُ

O Allah, You bring us the end of the day as You bring us its beginning, You bring us life and you bring us death, and to You is our fate.

بِسمِ اللهِ الذي لا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسمِهِ شَيءٌ في الأرْضِ وَلا في السّماءِ وَهوَ السّميعُ العَليم .

In the Name of Allah, Who with His Name nothing can cause harm in the earth nor in the heavens, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

للّهُمَّ قِني عَذابَكَ يَوْمَ تَبْعَثُ عِبادَك

O Allah, save me from Your punishment on the Day that You resurrect Your slaves.

بِاسْمِكَ اللّهُمَّ أَموتُ وَأَحْيا

In Your Name, O Allah, I die and I live.

الحَمْدُ لِلّهِ الّذي أَحْيانا بَعْدَ ما أَماتَنا وَإليه النُّشور

Praise is to Allah Who gives us life after He has caused us to die and to Him is the return.

اللّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْخُبْثِ وَالْخَبائِث

O Allah, I seek protection in You from evil and the evil ones (or, from the evil male and female Jinn).

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَذْهَبَ عَنِّي الْأَذَى وَعَافَانِي

Praise be to God who has removed harm from me and kept me in health.

أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وحدَهُ لا شريكَ لهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ. اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي مِنَ التَّوَّابِينَ وَاجْعَلْنِي مِنَ المُتَطَهِّرِينَ

I testify that there is no deity except Allah, alone and without a partner, and I testify that Muhammad is his servant and Messenger. O Allah! Make me among the constantly repentant and those who purify themselves.

اللَّهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ

O Allah! Open for me the doors of your mercy

سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَالحَمْدُ لِلهِ وَلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ

Glory be to Allah. All praise be to Allah. There is none worthy of worship except Allah. And Allah is the Greatest

اللّهُمَّ إِنّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِك

O Allah, I ask for Your favor.

اللّهُمَّ رَبَّ هَذِهِ الدّعْوَةِ التّامَّة وَالصّلاةِ القَائِمَة آتِ محَمَّدًا الوَسيلةَ وَالْفَضيلَة وَابْعَثْه مَقامًا مَّحمودًا الَّذي وَعَدْتَه إِنَّكَ لا تُخْلِفُ الميعاد

O Allah, Lord of this perfect call and established prayer. Grant Muhammad the intercession and favor, and raise him to the honored station You have promised him, verily You do not neglect promises.

بِسْمِ اللهِ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الرَّحْمَنُ الرَّحِيمُ. اللَّهُمَّ أَذْهِبْ عَنِّي الهَّمَّ وَالْحَزَنَ

In the name of Allah, except Whom there is no deity, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. O Allah! Remove from me anxiety and distress.

اللّهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلامُ وَمِنْكَ السَّلام تَبارَكْتَ يا ذا الجَلالِ وَالإِكْرام

O Allah, You are Peace and from You comes peace. Blessed are You, O Owner of majesty and honor.

سُبْحَانَ المَلِكِ القُدُّوسِ

Glory is due to the Sovereign, the Pure

اللَّهُمَّ أَجِرْنِي مِنَ النَّارِ

O Allah! Protect me from Hellfire.

بِسْمِ اللهِ ، تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلى اللهِ وَلا حَوْلَ وَلا قُوَّةَ إِلاّ بِالله

In the Name of Allah, I have placed my trust in Allah, there is no might and no power except by Allah.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ الْمَوْلِجِ وَخَيْرَ الْمَخْرَجِ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَلَجْنَا وَعَلَى اللَّهِ رَبِّنَا تَوَكَّلْنَا

O Allah, I ask You for good both when entering and when going out; in the name of Allah we have entered and in the name of Allah we have gone out, and in Allah our Lord do we trust.

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ هَذِهِ السُّوقِ وَخَيْرِ مَا فِيهَا وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهَا وَشَرِّ مَا فِيهَا اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أُصِيبَ فِيهَا صَفْقَةً خَاسِرَةً

In the name of Allah. O Allah, I ask You for the good of this market and the good of what it contains, and I seek refuge in You from its evil and the evil of what it contains. O Allah, I seek refuge in You lest I get a bad bargain in it.

بِسْمِ اللهِ وَبَرَكَةِ اللهِ

In the name of Allah and with the blessing of Allah.

بسمِ اللَّهِ أَوَّلَهُ وَآخِرَهُ

In the name of Allah, in the beginning, and in the end.

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَطْعَمَنَا وَسَقَانَا وَجَعَلَنَا مُسْلِمِينَ

All praise is due to Allah who fed us and gave us drink, and made us Muslims

اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِيهِ وَزِدْنَا مِنْهُ

O Allah, bless us in it and give us more of it.

اللّهُمَّ أَطْعِمْ مَن أَطْعَمَني، وَاسْقِ مَن سقاني

O Allah, feed the one who has fed me, and give drink to the one who has given me drink.

اللّهُمَّ بارِكْ لَهُمْ فيما رَزَقْتَهُم، وَاغْفِرْ لَهُمْ وَارْحَمْهُمْ

O Allah, bless them in what You have provided for them, and forgive them and have mercy on them.

اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ صُمْتُ وَعَلَى رِزْقِكَ أَفْطَرْتُ

O Allah! For You I have fasted, and on Your provision, I have breakfasted

ذَهَبَ الظَّمَأُ، وَابْتَلَّتِ العُروق، وَثَبَتَ الأجْرُ إِنْ شاءَ الله

The thirst is gone, the veins are moistened, and the reward is confirmed, if Allah wills.

أَفْطَرَ عِنْدَكُم الصّائِمونَ وَأَكَلَ طَعامَكُمُ الأبْرار، وَصَلَّتْ عَلَيْكُمُ الملائِكَة

With you, those who are fasting have broken their fast, you have fed those who are righteous, and the angels recite their prayers upon you.

الحَمْدُ للهِ الّذي كَسَانِي هَذَا (الثّوب) وَرَزَقَنيه مِنْ غَيرِ حَولٍ مِّنّي وَلا قوّة

Praise is to Allah Who has clothed me with this (garment) and provided it for me, though I was powerless myself and incapable

اللّهُمَّ لَكَ الحَمْدُ أنْتَ كَسَوْتَنيهِ، أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيرِهِ وَخَيْرِ مَا صُنِعَ لَه، وَأَعوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهِ وَشَرِّ ما صُنِعَ لَهُ

O Allah, praise is to You. You have clothed me. I ask You for its goodness and the goodness of what it has been made for, and I seek Your protection from the evil of it and the evil of what it has been made for.

الحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ. اَللَّهُمَّ كَمَا أَحْسَنْتَ خَلْقِي, فَحَسِّنْ خُلُقِي

All praise is due to Allah. O Allah! As You have made my appearance good, make my character good.

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ.

Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي

O Allah, indeed You are Pardoning, and You love to pardon, so pardon me.

اللَّهُمَّ أَهِلَّهُ عَلَيْنَا بِالْيُمْنِ وَالإِيمَانِ وَالسَّلاَمَةِ وَالإِسْلاَمِ رَبِّي وَرَبُّكَ اللَّهُ

O Allah, bring it over us with blessing and faith, and security and Islam. My Lord and your Lord is Allah.

أَضْحَكَ اللَّهُ سِنَّكَ

May Allah always keep you smiling.

لا بأْسَ طَهورٌ إِنْ شاءَ الله

[No harm, (it will be a) purification (from sins), if Allah wills.

سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ – وَإِنَّا إِلَى رَبِّنَا لَمُنْقَلِبُونَ

Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it. And indeed we, to our Lord, will [surely] return.

أَعوذُ بِكَلِماتِ اللّهِ التّامّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ ما خَلَق

I seek refuge in the Perfect Words of Allah from the evil of what He has created.

السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ يَا أَهْلَ الْقُبُورِ يَغْفِرُ اللَّهُ لَنَا وَلَكُمْ أَنْتُمْ سَلَفُنَا وَنَحْنُ بِالْأَثَرِ

Peace be upon you, inhabitants of the graves May Allah forgive us and you. You have preceded us, and we are to follow.

جَزَاكُمُ ٱللَّٰهُ خَيْرًا

May Allah recompense you with goodness
